Ex-project manager charged with CBT involving RM2.54m

MALACCA: A former Federal Government Paddy Fertiliser Scheme project manager claimed trial in the sessions court here today to criminal breach of trust involving more than RM2.54 million.
Muhamad Nasir Razak, 38, allegedly committed the offence related to 56,700 bags of fertiliser, at the Farmers Organisation Office in Jalan Jasin, Merlimau, Jasin near here, between Jan 31, 2016 and Dec 31, 2016.
The charge under Section 409 of the Penal Code carries a maximum 20 years imprisonment and whipping and liable to a fine on conviction.
Judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmad Tarmizi set RM200,000 as bail with one surety and ordered the accused to report to the Malacca MACC office here every first Saturday of the month pending disposal of the case.
The court set March 6 for remention.
Deputy public prosecutor Irwanshah Abdul Samad appeared for the MACC while the accused was unrepresented. — Bernama
