Hong Kong promotes Sham Shui Po neighbourhood

KUALA LUMPUR: The Hong Kong Tourism Board is currently promoting it's local town – "Hong Kong Neighbourhood - Sham Shui Po" which is a part of a regionwide campaign highlighting Hong Kong's most authentic neighbourhood.
Located in Kowloon Island, Sham Shui Po means "Deep Water Pier" and is situated in the northwestern part of the Kowloon Peninsula, north of Tai Kok Tsui, east of Cheung Sha Wan and south of Shek Kip Mei. Sham Shui Po district has steadily emerged into one of the most vibrant districts in town.
The neighbourhood is host to several authentic experiences from the street markets, electronics outlets, fabric stores, restaurants and food vendors.
The street market in Sham Shui Po is a hot spot for both locals and tourists. Apliu Street market is well known in Hong Kong and the open-air street market sells a wide variety of products at reasonable prices. Ki Lung Street is also famous for its fresh food and cheap prices.
There are numerous fashion wear wholesalers along Cheung Sha Wan Road. On weekends, some shops allow retail purchases, offering quality clothes at very affordable prices. Nam Cheong Street and Ki Lung Street are most famous for their fabric stores, containing cloth, sash, ribbons and buttons.
Sham Shui Po is well-known for people to find cheap and local food. The neighbourhood is home to numerous recommended eateries as well.
A lot of local restaurants are located in Fuk Wa Street, Fuk Wing Street, Pei Ho Street and Kweilin Street. Bean curd pudding at Kung Wo Beancurd Factory, bowl puddings aka Put Chai Koh at Kwan Kee Store, the world-known Tim How Wan dim sum, to the appetizing Cha Chaan Teng at Wai Ke noodle café, Sham Shui Po is one of a kind foodie heaven for every kind of food craving.
The bright yellow Man Fung Building on Tai Nan Street is famous for instagrammable spot which was given a new face with a mural by Madrid-based street artist Okuda San Miguel. The multi-coloured mural 'Rainbow Thief' was part of HK Walls' 2016 city-wide street art festival. The design covers the entire building façade in his signature multi-coloured geometric patterns, which come together in the shape of a bear.
