PETALING JAYA: Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) has released photographs of a man cradling a dog whilst tending to his laundry at a launderette.
The pictures were published on the movement's website, Ismaweb and they claim that it was given to them by a concerned netizen. This comes in reaction to the controversy over the exclusively Muslim launderette issue in Johor this past week.
The pictures together with the article on the website say that as the man waited for his clothes to be washed, he put the dog on a chair.
According to Isma, these are among the concerns of Muslims when using such establishments.
A dog's saliva is considered unclean in Islam and the netizen that sent these photos backed the need for Muslim only launderettes.
The article does not however state when and where the picture was taken.
The netizen also spoke of the need for the launderette to be subjected to 'Samak' (ritual cleaning) now that the photographs are out.
The Muslims-only laundrette owner in Johor had apologised and opened his doors to customers of all faiths after he was rebuked by the state's ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
