JOHOR BARU: His Majesty The Sultan of Johor has urged the public to stop casting aspersions against a woman who allegedly hugged and kissed the Ruler during a stopover in Ayer Hitam in conjunction with Kembara Mahkota Johor 2017 on Monday.

He said a video recording clearly showed that the woman in question did not kiss him as has been claimed by certain quarters.

“She approached me to whisper something into my ears. However, I could not hear what she was saying because of the noise in the open area,” he told the Royal Press Office.

Tuanku Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar stressed that the woman did not do anything untoward or improper. He also urged the police to be tactful in handling their probe into the matter.

The incident was alleged to have occured at 8.45am, when the woman was reported to have gently hugged, and kissed the left cheek of Tuanku Sultan soon after he arrived at Taman Medan Putra in Ayer Hitam as part of the KMJ programme.

The video recording, however, clearly shows otherwise.
