PETALING JAYA: Malaysians who spoke up against the attempts to besmirch his reputation and undermine his loyalty to the nation were thanked by Tan Sri Robert Kuok.
Kuok's office said the three articles on the online blog, Malaysia Today, containing various false and baseless allegations against him had been removed.
It said the three offending articles in question were: "Malaysian Insight Funder Fingered", "Robert Kuok Wants Chinese Rule in Malaysia" and "Robert Kuok's Last Chance at Changing the Government".
His office added that on Feb 28 a complaint was filed with the Complaints Bureau of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on his behalf, in respect to the offending articles.
It described the articles as false news and clearly being in violation of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
"The Complaints Bureau and the MCMC acted swiftly and on Monday ordered Malaysia Today and its author Raja Petra Kamarudin to remove the offending articles.
"Kuok was grateful for the quick and appropriate action taken by the Complaints Bureau and the Enforcement and Investigation Division of the MCMC," his office said in a statement.
It added that neither Malaysia Today nor Raja Petra Kamarudin had responded to letters issued by Kuok's solicitors in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
His office added that Malaysia Today and Raja Petra Kamarudin have continued to make similar baseless statements in a number of related articles which have been published on the Malaysia Today website.
His office said Kuok reserves the right to take all necessary legal steps against Malaysia Today and the author, and anyone repeating further libelous statements.
