PUTRAJAYA: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's lawyer revealed that she was questioned for around three hours by Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) officials yesterday relating to the SRC international scandal.
Rosmah arrived at the headquarters at around 10.40pm with her lawyers K Kumaraendran and Geethan Ram Vincent.
Also accompanying her was her daughter Nooryana Najwa Najib and son-in-law Daniyar Kessikbayev.
She was seen leaving the MACC headquarters at around 3.45pm.
He lawyer Kumaraendran said that although she had been in the MACC headquarters for five hours, she was only questioned for three hours as there were breaks in between for her to rest and to pray.
"My client has given her utmost cooperation during the questioning process and was treated well by the investigating officers," he said.
"Our client will extend further cooperation to the agency if need be," he said.
When asked if she will be questioned again, he declined to take anymore questions.
Her arrival yesterday morning took social media by storm as many netizens tried to identify the bright red handbag that she was carrying, which matched the colour of her headscarf.
A number of them had pointed out that the bag resembled a "Demetra" by Versace.
"Her questioning by graft-busters will be intense and thorough," former MACC investigations and intelligence director Abdul Razak Idris had told AFP yesterday.
"She may also be asked to reveal her bank accounts and explain about the source of the cash and jewellery found by police in two condominiums recently," he said.
Her husband, Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak was questioned by the MACC on two separate occasions two weeks ago with regards to the scandal.
SRC International was a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), which was subsequently placed under the Finance Ministry in 2012.
