IPOH: The Financial Information System (MyFIS) developed by the Treasury Department of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), has been commercialised to six agencies with a turnover of RM14.8 million since 2012.
UPSI treasurer Khadijah Hamdan said the six agencies were Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board, National Film Development Corporation; Lembaga Urus Air Selangor, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and International Islamic University Malaysia.
"MyFIS is a computerised financial management system with 11 integrated and comprehensive modules including the Budget, Procurement, Cash Management, Salary, and also Goods and Services Tax.
"The modules also integrate with other major applications at UPSI, namely Academic Information and Student Record Systems; Administrative and Human Resource Information Systems; MyUPSI Community portal; Vendor@UPSI portal and e-Payment@UPSI portal," she said in a statement here today.
Khadijah said the development of MyFIS was based on the Standard Accounting System for Government Agencies (SAGA) and complied with the single data entry concept of the Treasury's directive circular.
"This is because each transaction will include related accounts and be developed on a web-based basis as well as integrate with other major applications and resolve data inaccuracies."
MyFIS has a complete and comprehensive portal application related to financial management for staff, students and suppliers, with high-security controls called 'Digicert' and 'Secure Socket Layer' which are user-friendly,' she added.
MyFIS has received numerous awards including the Gold Medal Award at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (Pecipta) and the Perak Civil Service Information Technology Management Innovation Award. – Bernama
