Najib was once a kitten too: Syed Saddiq tells Hishammuddin

MUAR: Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak was once a "anak kucing" (kitten) too, Pakatan Harapan's (PH) Muar parliament candidate Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said.
Continuing the 'kitten' row he had with caretaker Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, the 25-year-old said Najib had won his Pekan parliament seat in 1976 at the age of 23.
"I think he (Hishammuddin) had forgotten that in the 1970s, there was another kitten. The kitten was given a mandate to represent the people of Pekan at the age of 23.
"Who was he? Datuk Seri Najib. Our Prime Minister. The kitten who is also Datuk Seri Hishammuddin's cousin," he said during a dialogue session with Tun Daim Zainuddin at Parit Yusof here.
On Monday, Hishammuddin had warned the people of Muar not to let an outsider from PH to fool them, labelling Syed Saddiq as an "anak kucing" and a "setahun jagung" (greenhorn).
Hishammuddin said Barisan Nasional (BN) should not be afraid of the prospect of facing Syed Saddiq, who will be contesting in his first general election, as the latter was clueless on the issues faced by the people of Muar.
Syed Saddiq, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (PPBM) youth chief, will be facing incumbent Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim and PAS' Abdul Aziz Talib, for the Muar constituency.
Syed Saddiq, in his speech, also reminded Hishammuddin to be wary before making a comment.
"Before pointing your finger to me, remember that the once kitten has now become your Prime Minister," he said.
"There is nothing wrong in bringing the voice of the youth into parliament," he added.
