GEORGE TOWN: The Penang government has been told to consult the public over its proposal to increase the water conservation surcharge (WCS).
National Water Services Commission (SPAN) chairman Datuk Liang Teck Meng said the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBABB) has been asked to justify the proposal.
"I think at the end it will be up to the people of Penang on whether they are happy and willing to accept the increase," he said in a press conference today after visiting the upgraded sewerage treatment plant in Batu Ferringhi here.
