Its director Kamaluddin Ismail said that they were detained in 157 operations in different locations of which 107 were sentenced from the 124, who were charged in court.
"For the whole of last year a total of 2,133 foreigners were detained and 442 of them were convicted while 1,691 had their cases pending in court," he told reporters after leading an operation codenamed "Ops Mega 2.0" here on Monday.
In the operation conducted at construction sites in Bukit Chandan and Jalan Bukit Kerajaan, he said that the Immigration enforcement teams checked 74 foreigners of which 37 including a woman were detained.
"Those aged between 30 and 60 had abused their social visit passes and some of them had no proper travel documents.
