Senior citizen with disability burnt in fire in Sabak Bernam

SHAH ALAM: A senior citizen with disability (OKU) who was in his 70's was burnt to death when the house he was living in at Jalan Haji Ehsan, Kampung Sungai Tengar, Sabak Bernam was razed in a fire early this morning.
The victim, Ahmad Arshad was found in the lounge of the house measuring 40X40 feet which was completely destroyed in the fire.
The head of the Sekinchan Fire and Rescue Station, Fire Assistant Superintendent Mohd Khairul Anuar Abu Bakar, said the station was informed of the incident at about 7.14 am and dispatched two fire engines with 13 personnel to the location of the incident.
"Shortly upon arrival at the location, we found a senior citizen who was completely burnt in the lounge of the house at about 7.45 am.
"The body of the victim, who was believed to have been trapped in the incident, had been handed over to the police for further action," he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said an initial investigation revealed that the victim was with his wife and a child during the incident, but the other two managed to save themselves from the fire.— Bernama
