Take a walk on the wild side

SCHOOL holidays are the perfect time for parents to bond with their children, and what better thing for the whole family to do together than a fun-filled walk on the wild side, complete with animals, exciting activities, and learning adventures.
Sunway Lagoon is currently playing host to a Wildlife Adventure from now till June 11, with a plethora of activities that revolve around animals and wildlife planned for the enjoyment of children and adults.
"Sunway Lagoon has always been the venue where the family bonds during school holidays," said Sunway Lagoon general manager Sean Choo.
"[At] the Wildlife Adventure, families are not only able to learn about the over 150 species of animals from around the world here, but also build a relationship through our specially-designed activities."
The adventure, begins with the Wildlife EduHunt challenge.
Start by picking up the EduHunt Card at the Main Entrance or Wildlife Park (Rimba).
You and your family can then collect stamps by completing the various challenges and activities indicated in the card.
There are 10 challenges in all, such as Peek-a-Print, Mix & Match, and Mystery Box, as well as animal appearances and feeding sessions with swans, macaws, otters, and squirrels.
These activities are scheduled all around the park throughout the day. Those who manage to collect all the stamps will be in the running for some prizes.
The grand prize is a two-day-one-night-stay at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa's premier park room, and an Xperia C5 Ultra Dual smartphone.
The second prize is a two-day-one-night-stay at Sunway Clio Hotel's superior room and an Xperia C5 Ultra Dual smartphone, while the third prize winner will receive an Xperia C5 Ultra Dual smartphone.
Meanwhile at the Wildlife Theatre, guests will be entertained by the Wildlife Multi-Animal Show where they will meet some of the many species of animals at the Wildlife Park.
Parent-and-child teams can also take part in the Get Wild, Paint, Snap & Post contest. Here, each team will be given 30 minutes to paint the face of one of the team members, take a photo of the finished face painting, upload the photo on Facebook (with the profile set to public), and hashtag it with #SunwayLagoonMY and #SLWildlifeAdventure.
Doing this earns the teams a chance to win a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera, which comes with a twin pack film set of 20 sheets.
And theSun readers, who complete the Find the Missing Animals map with the animal pictures cut out from theSun paper, will win themselves an exclusive Nickelodeon cup.
Sunway Lagoon is offering two school holiday deals for the Wildlife Adventure.
The FamFun package (priced at RM390) includes admission tickets for two adults and two children, a meal voucher worth RM10, a retail voucher worth RM20, and entry to all parks, including all rides, activities and attractions (not applicable for pay-per-ride activities like Bungy Jump, G-Force X and Go Kart).
The 4-to-Go package (RM456) comes with admission tickets for four adults, a meal voucher worth RM20, a retail voucher worth RM20, and entry to all parks, including all rides, activities and attractions (not applicable for pay-per-ride activities).
