'Veep' and 'Silicon Valley' renewed for 2018

HBO has renewed two of its comedy shows for 2018. The network's announcement comes before the current seasons of Veep and Silicon Valley have even ended, with season finales for both shows airing June 25.
With 12 Emmy Awards to its name since launching in 2012, Veep has been renewed for a seventh season for HBO subscribers in 2018. Julia Louis-Dreyfus will step back into the role of Selina Meyer, former President and Vice-President of the USA who, since leaving the White House, is struggling to navigate uncharted political territory.
Silicon Valley will return for a fifth season but is set to lose one of its main stars. T.J. Miller, who plays programmer Erlich Bachman, won't feature in the upcoming episodes. The actor and comedian is increasingly in demand in Hollywood. Currently filming Underwater with Kristen Stewart, he also lends his voice to The Emoji Movie, out July 28 in the USA. Next year, T.J. Miller will notably star in Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One and Deadpool 2.
Veep and Silicon Valley are among the first series to secure a place in the HBO 2018 schedule, after Game of Thrones, which returns for its final season, and Westworld, which gets a second season. — AFP Relaxnews
