MBI nafi dakwaan tanam anjing liar hidup-hidup di Ipoh

IPOH: Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) menafikan dakwaan bahawa anjing liar yang ditangkap ditanam hidup-hidup di Pusat Kurungan Haiwan Lahat seperti yang tular di media sosial.

Menurut kenyataan rasmi, semua haiwan tersebut telah melalui proses Put To Sleep (PTS) secara berperikemanusiaan sebelum dikebumikan mengikut prosedur operasi standard (SOP).

MBI menegaskan bahawa Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar (JPV) Negeri Perak bertanggungjawab melaksanakan PTS mengikut garis panduan kebajikan haiwan.

“Prosedur ini memastikan pengurusan bangkai haiwan dilakukan dengan selamat dan mematuhi piawaian kesihatan awam,“ jelas kenyataan itu.

Isu ini timbul selepas dua video berdurasi 15 dan 13 saat tular di Facebook Malaysia Homeless Animal Movement, menunjukkan puluhan anjing liar dalam sangkar di atas lori MBI.

Video itu mencetuskan reaksi meluas dalam kalangan netizen.

MBI menekankan komitmen mereka dalam mengurus haiwan terbiar secara beretika dan bertanggungjawab.
