Peluang lesen tangkap ikan untuk nelayan baharu masih terbuka

Nelayan baharu masih boleh mohon lesen tangkap ikan melalui Program Pemutihan Lesen Zon A meskipun pembekuan lesen berkuat kuasa sejak 1983

KUALA LUMPUR: Peluang menjadi nelayan baharu masih terbuka kepada rakyat Malaysia meskipun pembekuan lesen penangkapan ikan berkuat kuasa sejak 1983.

Menteri Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu berkata Program Pemutihan Lesen Zon A membenarkan pengagihan semula kuota kepada nelayan baharu.

“Lesen sedia ada yang tidak aktif melebihi tiga tahun akan dibatalkan dan kuota berkenaan diagihkan semula kepada nelayan baharu yang layak,” katanya menerusi catatan Facebook.

Beliau menjawab soalan Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman mengenai proses mendapatkan lesen untuk nelayan kecil di Dewan Rakyat.

Sistem e-Lesen diperkenalkan bagi memudahkan urusan nelayan dengan kaunter khas di pejabat perikanan seluruh negara.

“Melalui sistem ini, nelayan dapat membuat permohonan dan pembaharuan lesen dengan lebih cepat,” jelas Mohamad.

Sistem itu juga memastikan nelayan tidak tercicir daripada bantuan kerajaan seperti subsidi minyak diesel dan bantuan musim tengkujuh.

Kerajaan turut menurunkan kadar kompaun kesalahan ringan daripada RM500 kepada RM100.

Langkah ini sebagai tanda keprihatinan terhadap golongan nelayan kecil yang berdepan kesempitan hidup.

“Semua langkah ini bukan untuk menyusahkan nelayan, tetapi untuk menjamin kelestarian laut dan memastikan rezeki mereka terus berpanjangan,” tegas Mohamad. – Bernama
