Pesara rugi RM525,000 ditipu sindiket mata wang kripto tidak wujud

KUALA TERENGGANU: Seorang pesara lelaki mengalami kerugian sebanyak RM525,000 selepas diperdaya oleh sindiket pelaburan mata wang kripto yang tidak wujud.

Mangsa berusia 71 tahun itu mula melihat iklan pelaburan mata wang kripto di laman sosial Facebook pada 23 Mei lepas.

Beliau kemudian berhubung secara dalam talian dengan suspek dan membuat pelaburan sebanyak RM525,000 setelah dijanjikan pulangan sebanyak 500,000 dolar Amerika.

Mangsa yang merupakan bekas pengarah Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik telah melakukan tujuh transaksi ke akaun suspek dari 20 hingga 27 Ogos lepas.

Wang yang digunakan untuk pelaburan palsu itu berasal daripada simpanan persaraan mangsa sendiri.

Kes ini sedang disiasat mengikut Seksyen 420 Kanun Keseksaan kerana penipuan dan pemalsuan.

Polis menasihati orang ramai supaya sentiasa berwaspada dengan pelbagai taktik penipuan dalam talian dan di media sosial.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kuala Terengganu ACP Azli Mohd Noor mengesahkan kejadian penipuan pelaburan mata wang kripto ini.

Beliau menegaskan pentingnya orang awam membuat semakan terhadap mana-mana pelaburan sebelum membuat sebarang pembayaran.

Sindiket penipuan pelaburan dalam talian semakin menjadi-jadi dan mangsa terdiri daripada pelbagai lapisan masyarakat.
