Another trailer hits illegally parked car at Ayer Keroh R&R

Second trailer collision in 2 days at Ayer Keroh R&R entrance. Netizens slam drivers parking on road.

ANOTHER trailer has collided with a vehicle obstructing the entrance to the Ayer Keroh Overhead Bridge Rest and Service Area (R&R) in Alor Gajah, Melaka, yesterday (Dec 29).

A TikTok video shows the incident is believed to be a repeat occurrence, happening as the trailer attempted to enter the R&R lane before striking vehicles parked illegally on the road shoulder.

“Today, December 29, Ayer Keroh parking again. Feels like this car became like yesterday’s story—same place, just different day. Crushed like fried chicken,” the video caption stated.

The 33-second video depicts a trailer pinning an SUV that was parked on the curved road shoulder.

Earlier, it was reported that another trailer had hit three vehicles at the same location on Saturday. The incident is being investigated under Section 48(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

In the comments section, many condemned the actions of drivers who continue parking illegally despite the previous incident.

The repeated collisions have sparked debate about enforcement and driver responsibility at the notorious spot, with many calling for stricter action against vehicles that obstruct the R&R entrance.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding yesterday’s collision or whether additional enforcement measures will be implemented to prevent similar incidents.
