Bukit Bintang pickpocket steals over RM10,000 from woman’s bag

Woman shares CCTV footage of pickpocket gang stealing over RM10,000 in cash and gold dinars at Bukit Bintang

A woman has expressed her frustration after sharing CCTV footage of a pickpocket in Bukit Bintang who caused her family member to lose more than RM10,000 last night.

In a post by TikTok user @fifiemarzuki9, she explained that the incident occurred while crossing the road at a traffic light, when the pickpocket appeared amidst the crowd.

“The total loss was approximately RM8,200, including RM3,200 in cash and two gold dinar coins that were kept in a sling bag.

“Please help share this.

If anyone has any information, please report it to the Dang Wangi police station,” she said.

The nine-second video has attracted significant attention, garnering over 64,000 likes and nearly 35,000 shares on TikTok.

The majority of netizens expressed sympathy and hoped the perpetrator would be brought to justice as soon as possible.

“A lesson for me from this video . D not place precious items/ purse/ phone in the bag pack like that. Put it in your sling bag & make sure (the sling bag) is carried in front of you,” said @fielicious_.

“Based on the pickpocket’s style, it’s clear this isn’t their first time and they’re definitely working in a group.

“Hopefully everything will be resolved quickly since there’s clear evidence,” said Ku Zahri.

“That man (the pickpocket) is always seen hanging around the Bukit Bintang area,” commented @Tuan_azriey93.

“When travelling, tour agencies will always advise against wearing backpacks,” said @hanna_102018.
