A Grab rider has received widespread praise online after a photo showing him helping an elderly man in a wheelchair touched the hearts of many Malaysians.
The video, shared on Threads by user @rasydan_77, has since garnered more than 57,500 likes and over 700 comments, with many users describing the rider as a role model for society.
“Hopefully this Grab rider receives plenty of orders. He deserves to be an example to others,” the user wrote.
Netizens expressed admiration for the rider’s kindness, saying genuine acts of compassion such as this still exist in society, even if they are not often highlighted online.
In the comments section, the e-hailing company the rider works with, Grab Malaysia, said it was touched by his actions and hoped to identify him in order to offer its appreciation.
“We are touched seeing the kindness of this Grab rider. Thank you for always being caring and helping those in need. Truly the best example for all of us,” the company commented.
“If anyone recognises this rider, please DM us. We would like to give him a small token of appreciation,” it added.
The rider’s wife also appeared in the comments section to thank Malaysians for their prayers and kind words.
Using the username @asyaheis, she wrote: “Thank you to everyone praying for my husband. May all the prayers return to all of you too. I can’t reply to every comment one by one, but I truly appreciate it. Please also pray for my safe delivery.”
Many users continued leaving supportive messages and prayers for the rider.
User @chemurad wrote: “There are still many kind people around. They just don’t always end up in videos or photos. Brother, may every traffic light stay green for you. If you pass by Jalan Reko Kajang, find me. I’ll treat you to a meal.”
