M’sian man struggling financially says girlfriend wants chocolates and flowers for Valentine’s

“She wants chocolate and flowers for Valentine’s Day, but my salary is already little.”

WHAT would you do if you were financially struggling but your partner insisted on chocolates and flowers as Valentine’s gifts?

In an anonymous post on X, a struggling Malaysia man shared that his girlfriend wants chocolate and flowers for Valentine’s Day.

However he admitted he earned very little.

According to him, he usually pays whenever they go out, and this month’s paycheck is barely enough to survive after spending money on motorcycle repairs.

“Every time we go out, I’m the one who pays.

“This month I’m barely getting by — my salary is just enough to eat because I had to pay for motorcycle repairs.”

Some social media users weighed in with blunt advice.

“Anon, have you explained to your girlfriend? If you already did and she doesn’t understand, find someone else. That way, she won’t expect you to pay for everything. Money for yourself is very important,” shared X user.

Meanwhile, Parti Anti Gula-gula (@Perjit1) warned: “Hopefully you get a girlfriend who doesn’t expect, doesn’t ask, and doesn’t ‘love’ you just for gifts…”
