A Singapore garbage collector gets a proud send-off from his family, inspiring netizens with his honest hard work
PARENTS working hard for their families deserve appreciation, regardless of whether their jobs are white-collar or blue-collar, as long as the income is earned honestly.
In a Threads post, a woman known as @humancattt shared a heartwarming video of her and her little baby seeing off her husband to work as a garbage collector in Singapore.
The clip shows the mother raising their daughter, Qaseh, high to say “bye bye” while the father heads off to work, smiling at the loving send-off from his little family.
The caption reads: “I will make sure Qaseh is proud of her dad. Doing an honest job for the family — we’re proud of you, Baba!”
Malaysian actress Fazura, a single mother of a five-year-old daughter, commented on the post: “You have a great father, Qaseh!” with white heart emojis.
Many netizens also praised the family and blessed them with happiness and prosperity, applauding the wife for sharing the moment proudly.
“You don’t know how impactful your posting is. You just restored the faith of humanity. In fact, everyone in the comment section did,” wrote @ifnrsln.
Another user, @gabr13lleayla, shared her own experience as the daughter of a sanitation worker.
“Be proud, Qaseh and Mommy! My dad worked as a Sembcorp refuse collector for most of my teenage years. He even carried some of my school bags home because they were still in good condition.
“He put me through school, and although his work wasn’t as ‘sweet-smelling’ as other people’s dads’, it was honest. As long as he’s working hard for the family, be truly proud!”
