“Not everyone would do this” – Woman praised online for jumping into drain during heavy rain to save stranded dog

A woman’s act of kindness, jumping into a drain to save a weak dog during a downpour, has won widespread praise from Malaysians online.

A woman has captured the hearts of many Malaysians online after a TikTok video showed her jumping into a roadside drain during heavy rain to rescue a helpless dog.

In the video, posted by TikTok user @lieza_zainy, she was seen climbing down into a drain (“parit”) to help a dog that appeared to be stuck and too weak to climb out on its own.

Despite the pouring rain and dirty water, she carefully approached the exhausted animal and tried to help it reach safety.

The touching act of kindness quickly gained traction on TikTok, with the post receiving more than 15,000 likes, over 2,000 comments and more than 500 shares, as netizens flooded the comment section with praise and heartfelt messages.

Many viewers believed the dog was already extremely weak when the woman found it, suggesting it may have been starving.

Anonymous wrote: “The dog was too exhausted to move. Maybe he was lucky to get food soon. Thanks.”

“The dog had no energy because it was extremely hungry. Thank you to the kind-hearted person for saving it,” NafasQuayubaiduri added.

Others said they were deeply touched because not many people would be willing to help an animal under such conditions.

misha commented: “Not everyone is willing to do something like this, especially during heavy rain. Thank you for saving a creature that cannot ask for help. Your heart is very noble.”

“Not many people would do this. Some would just look and pretend not to see. You’re truly amazing, sis,” Alyssa added.

Several netizens also expressed pride in seeing such compassion from fellow Malaysians.

peaceguy said: “Thank you sister. There are still noble people in Malaysia who are willing to help dogs or animals that need our help.”

Meanwhile, Petria simply commented: “Beautiful Malaysian heart.”

The comment section was also filled with prayers and well wishes for the woman.

Andrew wrote: “Such a lovely thing to see… just a love for God’s creation. May Allah continue to bless you and your family all the days of your life.”

Rusmadi Hamid commented: “Thank you to the kind-hearted sister. May you always be healthy and blessed with abundant sustenance.”

“I’m touched that there are still humans as pure as you. I pray that Allah blesses your life at all times,” Idramus Bota added.
