Russian model thanks Malaysians after TikTok harassment

The Sun Webdesk

A Russian model praised Malaysians for supporting her after a local man made lewd remarks about her on TikTok Live

A Russian model dining at a restaurant in Malaysia unexpectedly became the target of verbal sexual harassment during a TikTok livestream — without even knowing it at the time.

The incident came to light after netizens condemned a local man for making inappropriate and “disgusting” remarks while his camera was pointed at Alice Kasimova, the foreign woman.

One user on Threads translated the man’s remarks from Malay into English, allowing Alice to understand the situation and prompting her to lodge a police report.

Alice later responded to the post, explaining that she had asked the man not to film her but was unaware he had continued to behave inappropriately.

“I asked him not to film me and thought he had stopped, so I ate calmly, but I didn’t even know he was saying such dirty things about me,” she wrote.

Following the revelation, many Malaysians rallied behind Alice, urging her to report the man’s actions and not tolerate such disrespectful behaviour.

Taking their advice, Alice lodged a police complaint and shared the update online to express her gratitude for the overwhelming support.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s been so kind and supportive. This experience was upsetting, but your words reminded me that one person’s actions don’t define a whole place.”

“Malaysia is a beautiful country with warm, respectful people, and I’ve felt so much love here. I’m grateful for all the messages, empathy, and solidarity,” she said.

While some netizens called for the man to be jailed, Alice said that might be excessive — adding that “shame” was already the real punishment.

“It’s heartbreaking to see a man speak like that about a woman, especially in front of his partner. That’s not humour. That’s not strength.”

“I want to live in a world where men protect women, not the other way around,” she added.
