MACC prepared to work with IPTs to increase awareness on corruption issues

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is prepared to cooperate with local higher learning institutions (IPTs) to educate students and raise awareness on the dangers of corrupt practices.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki(pix) said cooperation between MACC and IPTs to promote and cultivate anti-corruption attitude among students was seen as vital to produce a high integrity workforce in the future.

“MACC is ready to assist in implementing programmes and training on anti-corruption so that in the next four to five years, there will be more integrity in the workplace and among leaders.

“In addition, MACC will also strengthen the Anti-Corruption Student Force (AMAR) as many students are unaware of its existence,” he said this when he was a panelist in an anti-corruption analysis and resolution programme organised by a local media yesterday.

Meanwhile, Core Team leader of #RasuahBusters, Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub, said awareness of corruption culture had been ingrained in the students following various corruption educational programmes that had been carried out.

He added such awareness programmes should be conducted continuously in shaping an ethical workplace culture and shunning all forms of bribery and corruption. -Bernama
