MICHAEL Learns To Rock Encore All The Hits in Malaysia awakened fans’ youthful memories last Sunday in Arena of Stars, Genting.
There were no dazzling stage effects, only pure melodies and sincere interaction.
More than 30 years into its career, Michael Learns To Rock (MLTR) remains as captivating as ever. From listeners of the 90s who grew up listening to cassettes and CDs, to the younger generation who fell in love with Take Me To Your Heart again through TikTok, fans of different generations came together because of the same melody to witness this musical reunion.
The three band members each fulfilled their role yet worked seamlessly together. Lead singer Jascha Richter’s clear and gentle voice seemed to freeze time the moment he opened his mouth. The moment Someday began, memories flooded back.

Guitarist Mikkel Lentz maintained a composed smile throughout, each strum in Blue Night and It’s Gonna Make Sense imbued with deep emotion, interpreting the romantic spirit flowing through MLTR’s melodies.
Drummer Kare Wanscher, with his steady rhythm, infused the entire performance with soul.
“Malaysia means a lot to us. It’s where our musical journey in Asia began,” Richter confessed, drawing applause from the audience. He frequently walked into the audience to sing along with fans, creating a heartwarming and touching scene.

Throughout the night, MLTR performed a medley of classic love songs, including Sleeping Child, Complicated Heart, The Actor, I’m Gonna Be Around, Out of the Blue and Nothing To Lose.
The carefully arranged tracks, with their nuanced emotional shifts, transported the audience from the cassette era to the streaming age, each song evoking resonance with themes of love, loss and hope.
This concert, hosted by MMIC Entertainment, attracted 4.000 attendees. Amid MLTR’s songs, fans collectively embarked on a romantic journey across 30 years, reaffirming that true classics never fade.
