ALOR SETAR: The body of an elderly man who was reported missing yesterday was found on a sandbar of Sungai Kedah in the Ampang Jajar area near here today.
Kota Setar district police chief ACP Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said the next of kin identified the victim as the 62-year-old man who went missing yesterday.
“At 9 o’clock this morning, Kota Setar police who were scouring Sungai Kedah in the Ampang Jajar area found a body on a sandbar in the river near Restoran Ampang Bay,” he said in a statement today.
He said the man was fully clothed but did not have any identification papers.
“The body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here for a post-mortem and the case has been classified as a sudden death,” he said. –Bernama
