KANGAR: The Perlis Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) has distributed a total of RM12.88 million for its overall initiative programmes to combat Covid-19 for 2020 and 2021, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail (pix).
“Of the total, RM4.68 million has been distributed by MAIPs for 2020 while RM8.19 million for 2021,“ he said in a statement today.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is MAIPs president, had earlier handed over the MAIPs zakat (tithe) distribution amounting to RM12,000 in conjunction with the 22nd MAIPs Hijrah Minda programme held at Masjid Al Falah, Kampung Behor Mempelam, Arau.
The contribution was received by amil (tithe collector) Idris Ali who represented the 29 asnaf (hardcore poor) in the mosque kariah. — Bernama
