Man nabbed for threatening, hurting shop worker

SEREMBAN: A man threatened and hurt a grocery store employee in Senawang here today after he was admonished for not wearing a face mask.

Seremban district police chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim said that the suspect threatened and strangled the 22-year-old employee after the employee chided him for failing to wear a face mask and scan his temperature as well as not writing his personal details in a book prepared by the store.

"Following the incident, the suspect was arrested at Senawang at 10 pm for further investigations and was issued a compound for violating the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) under Act 342,” he said in a statement tonight.

He added that the suspect will be remanded at the Seremban Court tomorrow.
