Perlis civil servants to receive special assistance of half-month salary

KANGAR: The Perlis government has agreed to provide special financial assistance of half a month’s salary, with a minimum of RM2,000, to all civil servants in the state.

Menteri Besar, Mohd Shukri Ramli (pix), when tabling the state Budget 2024 at the State Legislative Assembly, at the DUN Complex here today, said that the payment would be made at the end of February 2024.

“The state government agreed to give special financial assistance of half a month’s salary or a minimum of RM2,000 to all civil servants, in appreciation of their services and sacrifices, by providing the best service to the people,” he said.

Mohd Shukri said that the state government has agreed to improve the facilities for contract officers under the state government, such as maternity leave, paternity leave, quarantine leave and hospitalisation leave, from next year, and the implementation of the initiative will benefit a total of 154 contract officers.

He added that the new salary rate offer will be implemented from next year, involving an additional financial implication of RM93,000.

“The state government is always concerned about the welfare and motivation of all civil servants who serve in the state, including contract officers,” he said. –Bernama
