KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong wind alert in several states until 6 pm today.
In a warning issued at 2.20 pm, MetMalaysia said the bad weather is expected to affect Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Yan, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang and Perak.
Similar conditions are forecast to hit Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Besut and Setiu), Pahang (Cameron Highlands), Selangor, the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, as well as Johor (Mersing).
In Sarawak, the affected areas are Kuching (Kuching), Serian, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Mukah (Mukah), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang, while in Sabah, it involves the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort). – Bernama
