Carlsberg organises CNY party at theSun

BRINGING the festive mood to theSun’s doorstep on Jan 16 was Carlsberg and the company’s style of celebrating Chinese New Year. In the spirit of its “Double Cheers. Double Winnings”, promotion, Carlsberg kicked off the occassion with a lion dance performance involving a red and green lion, moving in the pattern depicted in the campaign logo.

The logo itself draws inspiration from traditional Chinese culture of paper cuttings, with the fishes depicting abundance while the lion dance signifies good luck and prosperity. The art is featured across all Carlsberg and Carlsberg Smooth Draught bottles and cans.

Following the performance, Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Stefano Clini and theSun executive director Ching Chun Keat launched the “Double Cheers. Double Winnings” campaign, and signed a box that contained the exclusive 3-litre Carlsberg bottle.

After a token of appreciation was given to Ching from Carlsberg to signify the friendship between the brewer and theSun, a lou sang tossing ceremony took place led by Clini, Ching, theSun managing editor Eddie Hoo and Carlsberg’s senior management team.

The Chinese New Year celebration continues with Carlsberg’s “Double Cheers. Double Winnings” promotion until Feb 9, with plenty of prizes and goodies to be won, including the gigantic 3-litre Carlsberg bottle, the impressive Carlsberg Smart Mini Bar and the 1664 Blanc Mini Chiller among other prizes.
