Seni Malaya founder and former Astro Awani senior journalist Irwan Muhammad Zain passes away suddenly
PETALING JAYA: Irwan Muhammad Zain, a veteran media figure and former senior journalist with Astro Awani, has died at the age of 52.
The news of his passing was confirmed today following his death at Cyberjaya Hospital. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
According to reports, Irwan had been suffering from chest pains and sleep difficulties in the days leading up to his death.
Throughout his career, Irwan earned widespread recognition within Malaysia’s media circles for his dedication to journalistic excellence and ethical reporting. Colleagues and peers also remembered him for his approachable and personable nature.
His most recent professional endeavour was the establishment of Seni Malaya in 2023, an arts-focused news platform that rapidly gained prominence as a key voice in Malaysia’s cultural sector.
