A 16-year-old boy was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service for injuring former Dang Wangi police chief SAC Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman during an eviction operation.
KUALA LUMPUR: A teenager who pleaded guilty to injuring a senior police officer during an eviction operation has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
Magistrate Nurfarahain Roslan issued the order during proceedings held in camera due to the accused being a minor.
The 16-year-old must complete the sentence within six months under the supervision of the Social Welfare Department.
His lawyer, Muhammad Najib Ahmad, said the defence had sought a warning sentence while the prosecution requested community service.
The teen was charged with intentionally causing injury to intimidate SAC Sulizmie Affendy while the officer was on duty.
The offence occurred on Jalan Datuk Abdul Malik in Kampung Sungai Baru on September 11, 2025.
It falls under Section 332 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of three years’ jail, a fine, or both.
Six other individuals involved in the same incident were previously fined RM3,500 each for unlawful assembly.
They were convicted for opposing an eviction notice despite being ordered to disperse.
Media reports from September last year stated several arrests were made after Sulizmie Affendy was injured.
He sustained head injuries after being struck by an object thrown by an unidentified individual.
The officer was maintaining order during an operation to demolish residential structures under a court order.
