Motorists can settle JPJ summonses at 50% discount from Nov 1 to Dec 30, 2025, excluding AwAS and court-bound offences.

SUNGAI PETANI: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced a 50% discount on outstanding summonses for a two-month period.

Motorists can settle their payments from November 1 to December 30, 2025, according to JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.

The discount applies to all summonses except those ineligible for compounding.

He advised the public to take advantage of the offer through JPJ counters or available online payment channels.

“We urge the public to take advantage of the two-month window to settle their summonses, as a 50% discount will be available from Nov 1 to Dec 30, 2025,” he said during a special media conference.

The discount excludes AwAS summonses, Investigation Notices (114), and Stamped Summons/JPJ(P)23 Notices (115).

It also does not cover summonses that must be brought to court.

No discounts will be offered for JPJ and police summonses after January 1, 2026.

Meanwhile, JPJ is conducting Op Perang Lebih Muatan from October 14 to December 31 to crack down on overloaded commercial vehicles.

To date, 27,300 vehicles have been inspected, with 1,017 found carrying excessive loads.

A total of 1,696 drivers and vehicle owners were issued summonses under various transport acts.

Ninety-six lorries were also impounded during the operation.

Most targeted vehicles carry materials like stones, gravel, and iron from hotspots such as quarries and steel factories. – Bernama
