Klang police clarify viral robbery video as training drill

Klang police confirm viral video was a training simulation, not a real robbery arrest, urging public not to share misleading content.

SHAH ALAM: A viral video showing what appeared to be a robbery arrest in Klang was actually a police training simulation.

Klang Utara police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao confirmed the footage depicted a hot-pursuit exercise conducted yesterday morning.

The drill aimed to assess the readiness of the Mobile Patrol Vehicle Unit, Motorcycle Patrol Unit and district control centre during pursuit scenarios.

“The exercise involved coordination with the Control Centre Branch of the Internal Security and Public Order Division, Klang Utara district police headquarters,” he said in a statement today.

Two senior officers and 26 personnel participated directly in the simulation.

ACP Vijaya Rao urged the public not to share videos or posts that could cause unnecessary anxiety.

He warned that offenders could face action under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

The viral video had suggested police detained a suspect following a gold shop robbery and attempted escape in Aman Perdana, Klang. – Bernama
