Police search for person who abandoned a newborn baby girl found alive in a blue bag outside a Subang Jaya residence.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are searching for the person responsible for abandoning a live newborn baby girl outside a house in Subang Jaya this morning.
Subang Jaya Police Chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed that authorities received a public tip-off about the baby discovered beside a house on Jalan USJ 9/5K, Subang Jaya, at 10.27 am.
Initial investigations revealed the fully formed baby girl was found unclothed inside a blue bag with her umbilical cord still covered in blood.
“The baby was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for further treatment and examination found she weighed 2.6 kilograms, measured 43 centimetres long, and is currently in healthy and stable condition,” he stated tonight.
He confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth.
