KUALA LUMPUR: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has extended his warmest wishes to the Indian community for the Ponggal festival.
In a Facebook post, he wished them an abundance of blessings, health, and prosperity.
Fahmi said the celebration serves to strengthen unity and mutual understanding within the Indian community and wider society.

“Iniya Ponggal Nalvazhthukkal. Selamat Hari Ponggal to the entire Indian community and to all who are celebrating,” he wrote.
Ponggal is a harvest festival of thanksgiving for a bountiful yield.
The observance unfolds over four days, beginning with Bhogi.
It is followed by Thai Ponggal, the ceremonial offering of sweet rice to the Sun God.
The third day is Mattu Ponggal, which honours livestock.
