A fire in Taman Guar Perahu gutted three terrace houses and damaged four vehicles, with one man hospitalised in stable condition.
BUKIT MERTAJAM: Three single-storey terrace houses were destroyed by a fire in Taman Guar Perahu early this morning.
The blaze also damaged four vehicles, including a car and three motorcycles.
The Penang Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 3.29 am.
Fire engines from the Penanti, Bukit Mertajam and Bandar Perda stations were dispatched to the scene.

Assistant director of operations John Sagun Francis said firefighters found three houses fully engulfed upon arrival.
A Toyota Yaris car was almost 90% destroyed in the incident.
Three motorcycles, a Honda RS, a Honda Wave and a Suzuki, sustained damage ranging from 10% to 90%.
A 50-year-old man was found unconscious outside one of the houses.
He was immediately sent to hospital by the medical team for further treatment.
The man is reported to be in stable condition.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 3.56 am.
The fire was fully extinguished at 5.38 am. – Bernama
