Lorry skids blocks PLUS highway causing 6km traffic gridlock

A lorry skidded and blocked the PLUS highway near Ipoh, causing a 6km traffic gridlock with middle and right lanes closed for hours.

IPOH: A lorry skidded and blocked the road at KM263.4 northbound on the North-South Expressway between Ipoh and the Menora Tunnel today.

PLUS Malaysia Berhad announced the accident occurred at about 9.28 am on its official X account @plustrafik.

The incident caused the northbound middle and right lanes to be blocked for several hours.

PLUS advised motorists to comply with instructions from officers and traffic signs at the accident site.

The company urged drivers to take all safety precautions for a safe journey.

All lanes were reopened by 12.45 pm but traffic remained slow-moving afterwards.

The accident went viral on Facebook where it was initially reported to have caused a 12 kilometre traffic snarl.
