Malaysia’s consistent CIIE participation praised by deputy PM

Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid praises ACCCIM’s eight-year CIIE presence, highlighting Malaysian halal and rural products in Chinese market.

SHANGHAI: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has praised Malaysia’s consistent participation at the China International Import Expo through the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia.

He said the ACCCIM Pavilion represents Malaysia’s sole continuous participation for eight consecutive years at the event.

The pavilion was recognised as one of the 30 most influential pavilions in last year’s seventh edition.

This year’s ACCCIM Pavilion focuses on food and agricultural products with 29 exhibition spaces.

It features 83 participating companies and 80 business delegates, bringing total Malaysian participation to 169.

Ahmad Zahid said ACCCIM’s participation opens new opportunities for Malaysian small and medium enterprises.

These opportunities particularly benefit the halal, agrifood, food technology, and premium rural product sectors.

“This effort is in line with the government’s aspiration to strengthen the rural export ecosystem through high-quality products,” he said.

The initiative aligns with the Rural Development Policy 2030 and rural urbanisation agenda.

Ahmad Zahid also officiated the launch of Port Klang Free Zone’s China branch office at the PKFZ Pavilion.

He described this as Malaysia’s strategic move to strengthen trade relations, investments, and logistics with China.

The initiative will enhance Port Klang’s position as a major gateway and competitive regional maritime hub.

“This move also demonstrates PKFZ’s continuous commitment to expanding cross-border logistics and port cooperation,” he added.

Earlier, Ahmad Zahid officiated the Malaysia International Halal Showcase at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre.

In a Facebook post, he expressed pride in seeing Malaysian brands standing tall on the world stage.

He interacted with representatives from ministries, agencies, state governments, and Bumiputera companies at MIHAS.

“Each product and innovation exhibited showcases Malaysia’s great potential to continue leading the global halal industry,” he said.

He hopes entrepreneurs will strengthen business networking and open new market avenues in the region.

Continuous efforts will solidify Malaysia’s position as the world’s leading halal industry hub.

This ensures “Halal Malaysia” remains trusted and respected globally. – Bernama
