More than 250 SMEs learned about AI, automation and smart manufacturing adoption at a seminar aimed at boosting competitiveness and innovation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Over 250 small and medium enterprises gained exposure to digitalisation best practices through the Tech Up, Scale Up! seminar.

The event featured 20 digital and technology solution providers focusing on AI, automation and smart manufacturing adoption.

Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said digitalisation elements will be incorporated into programmes throughout the 13th Malaysia Plan period.

“This initiative is in line with the aspirations of the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 to create a holistic and comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem,” he said when officiating the event.

SME Corp. Malaysia chief executive officer Rizal Nainy said the agency’s current priority is strengthening micro, small and medium enterprise competitiveness.

“Moving into the 13MP period, SME Corp. Malaysia aims to enhance the scaling capabilities of MSMEs to develop local business entities that are innovative, high value-added and competitive in both domestic and global markets,” he said.

The Kuala Lumpur seminar is the first in the 2025 series, with the next session scheduled for Kota Kinabalu on November 17.

The initiative supports MSME development towards large-scale digitalisation and transformation, aligning with Malaysia’s aspiration to become an AI Nation by 2030. – Bernama
