CIDB launches digital personnel card for construction wage and attendance management

CIDB introduces a new digital registration card integrating attendance, wage payments and e-Wallet functions for Malaysia’s 1.1 million construction workers

KUALA LUMPUR: The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has launched a new digital Construction Personnel Registration Card.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the platform integrates attendance monitoring, wage payments and workforce management into a single system.

He stated the initiative marks a shift towards a safer, more transparent and modern construction industry, directly benefiting over 1.1 million registered workers.

“Previously, we often faced issues with inaccurate records, but with this card, it becomes easier to identify local and foreign workers,“ Nanta said at the launch.

The card provides digitally verified attendance and safety records via the CIDB CIMS system to help reduce undocumented workers.

Nanta added the card gives workers access to a digital ecosystem including e-Wallet functions, money transfers and bill payments.

A key component is the e-Wages system, which ensures fair, transparent and traceable salary payments for easier employer processing.

CIDB Malaysia chief executive Zainora Zainal said the use of the new physical card is currently voluntary.

“The mandatory one is the registration, which can be done in the CIDB CIMS system,“ she explained.

Zainora added the enhanced Green Card provides added value through site attendance and e-Wallet functions.

To date, CIDB has registered 1,168,104 construction personnel, comprising 457,522 foreign workers and 710,582 local workers. – Bernama
