The march is aimed at pressing for enforcement of past court orders related to the 16-year-old abduction case.
KUALA LUMPUR: Participants began gathering outside SOGO Mall at 10.00am this morning for the Justice March organised by the Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat), calling for renewed action to locate Prasana Diksa, who has been missing since 2009.
Early observations showed a modest crowd of around 60 to 80 people gathering outside SOGO, with several uniformed police officers stationed along the roadside to monitor the scene as participants continued to arrive.
During the 9.30am team briefing, Ingat chairman Arun Dorasamy said: “All our preparations have been done. I wrote to the IGP’s office three weeks ago, and we’ve had two meetings and spent about three to four hours arranging this handover. Thank you to all the volunteers, everyone who came today, especially the media.
“And I want to make this clear; once we reach Bukit Aman, we will not leave until the IGP himself comes down to accept our memorandum.”
Short speeches are expected to start at 10.45am before participants march to Bukit Aman at 11.15am, where Indira and Ingat representatives will hand over Prasana’s teddy bear to the Inspector-General of Police.
The march is aimed at pressing for enforcement of past court orders related to the 16-year-old abduction case.
