Kelantan KPDN seized RM4.7 million worth of goods in 2025, including subsidised fuel and cooking oil, after nearly 100,000 inspections.
KOTA BHARU: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized products worth almost RM4.7 million from enforcement actions in Kelantan throughout this year.
Kelantan KPDN director Azman Ismail said 98,842 inspections were carried out, resulting in compounds totalling RM800,050. A total of 1,355 cases were recorded, leading to 220 arrests and 37 cases being charged in court with fines totalling RM216,000.
“A total of 89,280.61 litres of petrol worth RM193,544.83 were seized, along with 35,598 litres of diesel worth RM93,679.29,” he told reporters after attending the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) for Christmas 2025 launch.
He also shared that Kelantan KPDN seized 42,562 kilogrammes of subsidised cooking oil worth RM106,275.40. Other seized items included 6,656 kg of sugar worth RM19,127.97, 3,974.20 kg of wheat flour worth RM12,187.52 and 2,332 kg of liquified petroleum gas worth RM4,569.
Azman noted that 32 supermarkets in the state participated in the three-day RAHMAH MADANI Sales programme ending this Thursday. A total of 43 supermarkets have also signed up for the upcoming RAHMAH MADANI Back-to-School Sales programme.
