The government will focus on meaningful Islamic propagation next year, targeting family values, social media responsibility, and social issues like LGBT.
PUTRAJAYA: The government will focus on implementing high-impact dakwah programmes next year, prioritising the family institution, responsible social media use, and social issues.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the emphasis will shift from quantity to the meaningful impact of each programme.
He stated that over 3,000 dakwah programmes were successfully conducted this year, which he described as a remarkable achievement.
“InsyaAllah, for 2026, we will focus less on the number of the programmes,” he told reporters after officiating a Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah (YADIM) ceremony.
“It does not matter if there are fewer of them, as long as each programme has a meaningful impact.”
The goal is to cultivate a MADANI society that upholds good values, he added.
On social media, Mohd Na’im stressed the need to educate the public on responsible and respectful online behaviour.
He said dakwah programmes should guide couples, advising that social media should not be used to shame one’s partner.
The government, through YADIM and JAKIM, will continue programmes targeting specific groups, including issues related to the LGBT community.
“JAKIM does have specific programmes to educate the LGBT community,” he said.
He emphasised that all parties and religious institutions now have a role in developing related programmes. – Bernama
