Pahang has completed 126 water supply projects, with 26 under construction and 65 in planning, to improve services across the state
KUANTAN: The upgrading of Pahang’s water supply system continues to show progress, with 126 out of 217 projects under Phase 1 of the Pahang Water Supply Development Project Plan (2021-2026) completed to date.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said 26 more projects are currently under construction, while 65 are at the pre-construction stage.
“We have completed more than half of the total projects, and the state government remains committed to enhancing the quality of water supply services through carefully planned initiatives,” he said at the State Legislative Assembly sitting.
He was responding to a question from Ho Chi Yang (PH-Tanah Rata), who asked about efforts to upgrade water infrastructure across all districts and the latest project developments.
To a supplementary question, Wan Rosdy said the Disaster Operations Control Centre, together with Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP), is prepared to address any water supply disruptions during the northeast monsoon season.
“PAIP will also deploy pontoon pumps at water treatment plants to ensure a clean water supply if any areas are affected,” he added. – Bernama
