Three of seven Johor students with tuberculosis have recovered, while four others remain in quarantine as health screenings continue across schools.

JOHOR BAHRU: Three of the seven Johor students diagnosed with tuberculosis have now recovered. The remaining four pupils are still under quarantine in line with health protocols.

The three recovered students are primary school pupils from Kota Tinggi. They were monitored for a week before being allowed to return to school.

Three other students from Kota Tinggi and one from Pontian remain in quarantine. State Education and Information Committee chairman Aznan Tamin provided the update at a press conference.

He said 804 close contacts were screened in the Kota Tinggi cluster. This included teachers, students, and family members.

Six students from the Kota Tinggi screenings tested positive for TB. In Pontian, 31 students were screened, resulting in one confirmed case.

Aznan stated that the spread of TB in schools remains under control. Appropriate measures have been implemented to prevent further transmission.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad reported that 37 TB cases have been detected in Johor to date.
