TNB cuts power supply in Kuala Selangor due to flooding
KUALA SELANGOR: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has cut off electricity supply in parts of Kuala Selangor, Selangor following continuous rain and flooding in the affected areas.
Through a Facebook post, TNB confirmed that two substations were affected involving Jalan Rizab Masjid and Southern Reality Ladang Bukit Ijok.
“This power shutdown by TNB is for the safety of local users,” according to the statement.
TNB also advised users to turn off all switches at power outlets and unplug electrical appliance plugs.
Following storms and heavy rain in several areas around Nilai and Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, TNB informed that power restoration work is expected to take a long time due to many fallen trees hitting TNB poles and lines.
“The public is advised not to approach fallen TNB lines or any damaged electrical installations.
“Technical teams are working to restore supply while prioritising everyone’s safety during the restoration work,” according to the statement.
The public can report any damage through the hotline 15454 or via private message on TNB Careline’s Facebook page. – Bernama
