Cabinet thanks Tengku Zafrul as MITI tenure concludes

The Cabinet expressed appreciation for Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz’s service as MITI minister as his senatorship ends, with the Prime Minister indicating he will continue serving in another capacity.

PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet today expressed its appreciation for Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz as his tenure as Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry concludes.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said today’s Cabinet meeting marked Tengku Zafrul’s final participation as his term ends with the expiry of his senatorship.

“The Cabinet recorded its thanks to Tengku Zafrul,” Fahmi told a weekly press briefing.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also acknowledged his contributions to the country, particularly in investment, negotiations and trade.”

Tengku Zafrul will end his six-year term in the Senate on Dec 2, having served the maximum two terms allowed since 2020.

Fahmi, who is also the MADANI Government spokesperson, said the Prime Minister indicated Tengku Zafrul would continue serving the government in another capacity.

“The Prime Minister said Tengku Zafrul will likely continue assisting him and the government, possibly in a different role or position,” he said.

AWC posts steady Q1 revenue at RM97.6m, expects momentum to strengthen in coming quarters

AWC Bhd reported a 3.4% year-on-year increase in revenue to RM97.6 million for the first quarter of FY26, driven by stronger contributions from its engineering division. Net profit, however, eased to RM4.1 million due to slower project progress in the Middle East under the environment division. Despite the softer start, the group remains optimistic, backed by RM270 million in new contract wins for FY26 and a robust order book of RM528 million, positioning AWC for improved performance in the months ahead.
