Putrajaya launches three digital platforms to enhance tourism, public services and community engagement as part of its smart city transformation
PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Territories Ministry has launched three major digital initiatives to advance Putrajaya’s smart and sustainable city agenda.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the initiatives comprise the Putrajaya Tourism Website, the Putrajaya Mobile App and the Local Agenda 21 (LA21) Website.
She said the tourism website aims to promote Putrajaya as an urban, recreational and events destination.
The mobile app will serve as an integrated digital platform to improve public access to city information and services.
“The third initiative, the LA21 website, is designed to strengthen community participation and sustainable governance in line with the Sustainable Development Goals,” she told reporters after officiating the Putrajaya Open Day 2026.
The four-day Putrajaya Open Day 2026 runs from today until Feb 1 at Dataran Putrajaya and features about 500 exhibitors from the public and private sectors.
Hannah encouraged the public, especially parents, to bring their children to the event.
Attractions include Aidilfitri preparations, family-friendly activities, sales booths and a rare opportunity to see two elephants from the National Elephant Conservation Centre.
“This year, the Wildlife and National Parks Department brought two elephants here. I even had the chance to feed an elephant for the first time,” she said.
The event is targeting 200,000 visitors this year, up from 50,000 last year.
It features public sector services, large-scale tourism exhibitions, education programmes and creative showcases.
The event is held in conjunction with Federal Territory Day 2026 and the 30th anniversary of the Putrajaya Corporation.
It serves as a platform to strengthen ties between the government, industry and the public.
